Choosing a Role model

A role model could be any person whose experiences can be learnt and applied as examples worthy of emulation. A successful footballer could be a role model for up and coming or potential footballers. A successful business man could be a role model for a person planning to set up a business. An inventor could be someone’s role model. A person who occupies a high social status or a president of a nation is potential role models for people who admire their achievements.

Steve Jobs wrote, ‘’ If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it and like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.

Well, I think role models can inspire you to get what you are looking for. You can also learn from them from time to time.

Now the crucial question is, how do you choose a good role model? Well, it is very important that role models are chosen with caution because you are going to learn from their experiences and way of life if you desire to become like them. The fact that a person has achieved a lot or is successful does not mean that person has high moral values.

Therefore my precious reader, it’s imperative to choose role models who are morally upright and willing to develop and share their experiences with other people. There are a lot of successful people out there who may not have been successful without being corrupt and deceptive. You have to avoid such people, they are not worthy of emulation. You can only learn the ways of people who used the right path to get to where they are today. Choose genuine, selfless, decent people with good heart.
